FAQs

What is the goal of Tattooed Tongue Press?

The goal of Tattooed Tongue Press is to stay small, publishing only small-run chapbooks and zines. In staying small we are determined to remain fugitives from the mainstream market economy and prefer to place more emphasis on legitimizing works through the building of networks and communities. Tattooed Tongue also actively encourages and assists individuals to self-publish and/or start their own press thus, eliminating the idea of art as competition. At Tattooed Press we understand the need for historical accuracy and are committed to the belief of NOT allowing someone else to define “your” personal experience.

I write about anything that moves me.  A lot of my poetry deals with lesbian themes and feelings of being an outsider.

Audre Lorde (she’d probably be my number one she-roe), Staceyann Chin, Saul Williams, Pat Parker, June Jordan, Lucille Clifton, Rita Dove, Corey Houlihan, London Bridgez…that’s just to name a few…

I’d like to think it makes me pay attention more to the little things…

I write as often as I can wherever I am…
